One of the things that struck me about Slab City was how organic it was.
In fact, there was trash and debris everywhere- and the residents celebrated it.
There was beauty to be found everywhere, in the minute details hidden in the trees and the grown. Murals hidden behind trash sculptures and overgrown brushes.
Slab City was peaceful, the way I would describe it is still. There was no rush to be anywhere, or do anything. Everyone was simply exisiting together.
It was very refreshing.
